Unilever Nepal shareholders to get Rs 990 per share dividend; highest dividend ever in Nepal

Unilever Nepal Limited (UNL), one of the most sought after companies in the stock market has proposed to provide dividend worth Rs 990 per share from the last fiscal year’s earnings. It is the highest dividend proposed by any company so far in context of Nepal.

The company is yet to publish its financial report of fourth quarter of last Fiscal Year. The company has posted a net profit of Rs 25.65 crore in the third quarter of the same year.

The BOD Meeting of Unilever Nepal Ltd held on Shrawan 26, 2072 has recommended the distribution of NRs 990 Cash Dividend to their Shareholders after the approval by its upcoming AGM going to be held on 1 October 2015.

Unilever is the highest dividend distributing companies in Nepal among all the listed companies and also the most expensive share in secondary market of Nepal.

The company distributed Rs 860 per share from the net profit earned in the fiscal year 2070/71, Rs 760 per share from the net profit earned in the fiscal year 2069/70 and Rs 680 per share from the net profit earned in the fiscal year 2068/69 to its shareholders.

The last traded price of the company stands at Rs 21,992 as of August 9 in NEPSE.

It is a subsidiary company of the Hindustan Unilever Company which owns an 80% stake in the company and rest 20% is owned by the general public of Nepal.
