Sujal partners Laxmi

KATHMANDU:

Sujal Dairy — one of the largest dairies of the country based in Pokhara — has partnered with Laxmi Bank for the subsidised agriculture loan for the milk producers associated with Sujal Dairy. Both of them have sealed the deal under the government’s scheme of extending subsidised agriculture loan at up to six per cent interest rate through commercial banks. “Milk producers associated with Sujal Dairy can borrow at subsidised rate through Laxmi Bank,” said Niranjan Shrestha, executive director of Sujal Dairy, adding, “Farmers can utilise the loan to purchase cattle to operate their farms at commercial scale.” As per the agreement, Laxmi Bank will extend loan to the farmers of Tanahun, Nawalparasi, Chitwan and Rupandehi.
