Stock market rises by double digit on first trading day; Index surges by 16.41 points with turnover of Rs 40.07 crore

On the first trading day of the week, the benchmark index at Nepal Stock Exchange Limited (NEPSE) has increased by 16.41 points or 1.12% to close at 1477.14 points today.
Nepse Index opened at 1460.83 points today and the local bourse was seen in downward trend in the first trading hour of the day, afterward it was seen upward trend. The total turnover of the day stood at 40.07 crores in which more than 11.20 lakh units shares were traded with 4,375 transactions.
Bank of Kathmandu Promoter Shares (BOKPO) topped the list of companies in terms of turnover (Rs 2.89 crore) while Prabhu Bank Limited Promoter Shares (PRVUPO) was traded the most (151,877 units) today.
The best performer for the day was Sahayogi Bikas Bank Limited (SBBLJ) whereas Vijaya Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (VLBS) was the biggest loser today.
Except Trading, sub-groups, all the sub-groups landed in green zone today. Insurance sub-group witnessed the growth of 118.71points followed by Hydropower sub-group which rises by 31.67 points.
Sensitive and float index went up by 3.75 and 0.33 points respectively.
