Stock Market rises by 35.38 points in light of election news; Turnover of Rs 1.53 arba

On the first trading day of the week, the benchmark index at Nepal Stock Exchange Limited (NEPSE) has increased by 35.38 points or 2.13% to close at 1,693.72 points today. The market had faced immense buying pressure within the first few minutes. A circuit breaker was applied at 11:10 AM after the market rose by 3% (1,707.71 points). Total market capitalization after today's gain has reached Rs 19.62 kharba, an increase of almost Rs 50 arba in a single day.
1,71,131 units shares of Prabhu Bank Limited (PRVU) and 1,10,978 units shares of Arun Kabeli Power Limited (AKPL) were traded the most today. Rastriya Beema Company Limited (RBCL) and Rastriya Beema Company Limited – Promoter Shares (RBCLPO), whose prices were adjusted today for their 114.27% bonus shares hit positive circuit. Karnali Development Bank Limited (KRBL) was also traded at positive circuit levels.
Prabhu Bank Bank Limited (PRVU), Siddhartha Insurance Limited (SIL) and United Insurance Company Nepal Limited (UIC) had the highest turnover of Rs 7.63 crore, Rs 6.70 crore and Rs 6.25 crore respectively.
The total turnover of the day stood above Rs 1.53 arba in which more than 22.20 lakh units shares were traded through 10,191 transactions.
Sensitive index and float index increased 7.38 and 2.52 points respectively.
All sectors landed in green today. Insurance sub-index witnessed the largest gain of 318.93 points (3.67%).
