Stock market drops by 9.40 points; Api power hits the negative circuit

The stock market has dropped by 9.40 points on the first trading day of the week. The market had started at 1,288.36 points and at the end of the day, it closed at 1,278.96 points losing 9.40 points or 0.73%.
The total turnover for the day was Rs 30.04 crore with more than 8.33 lakh shares being traded for the day. The total transactions of 3,805 were observed during the day.
Nepal Life Insurance Company (NLIC) stood ahead in terms of turnover as more than Rs 2.63 crore worth shares was traded during the day. After the issue of fraud, the shares of Nepal Credit and Commerce Bank (NCCB) was ahead among the stocks by shares traded as 86,202 unit shares were traded.
Chhyangdi Hydropower Limited (CHL) was the top gainer for the day as its value increased by 6 points and its LTP stood at Rs 156. The shareholders of Api Power Company (API) lost the most as its value decreased by 34 points and its LTP stood at Rs 306. Api touched the negative circuit as its value decreased by 10%.
Both the sensitive and float index decreased by 1.91 and 0.70 points respectively.
Among the sub-indices, all the indices landed in the red zone. Hotels lost 70.76 points which was followed by Insurance losing 52.4 points.
