Stock market drops by 8.44 points; Api Power hits the negative circuit again

The stock market has dropped by 8.44 points today. The market had started at 1,278.96 points and at the end of the day, it closed at 1,270.52 points losing 8.44 points or 0.66%.
The total turnover for the day was Rs 26.62 crore only with more than 7.71 lakh shares being traded for the day. The total transactions of 3,542 were observed during the day.
Nepal Life Insurance Company (NLIC) stood ahead in terms of turnover today also as more than Rs 3.07 crore worth shares was traded during the day. The shares of Mahalaxmi Bikas Bank Limited (MLBL) was ahead among the stocks by shares traded as 33,501 unit shares were traded.
Swadeshi Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (SDESI) was the top gainer for the day as its value increased by 27 points and its LTP stood at Rs 488. The shareholders of Api Power Company (API) lost the most as its value decreased by 30 points and its LTP stood at Rs 276. Api touched the negative circuit as its value decreased by 9.80%.
Both the sensitive and float index decreased by 1.79 and 0.76 points respectively.
Among the sub-indices, all the indices except Trading, Manufacturing & Production and Others landed in the red zone. Others sector gained the highest 3.51 points whereas Insurance was the top loser losing 50.32 points.
