Stock market declines by double digits; National Hydropower traded below Rs 100

The stock market has been following the same trend since few days. The stock market has been continuously losing points. Today the market lost 15.05 points to close at 1,255.47 points. The market had started at 1270.52 points but at the lowest point, the market stood at 1,249.75 points which is less than the previous year’s lowest point of 1,252.50 points. 1 Meager transaction of Rs 32.89 crore was observed during the day where more than 9.62 lakh unit shares were traded. 4,941 transaction was performed during the day. The main highlight for the day was the scrip of National Hydro Power Company Limited (NHPC) as it was traded at a value less than its initial price of Rs 100. The LTP of the company stood at Rs 98 at the end of the day. Nepal Life Insurance Company Limited (NLIC) stood ahead in terms of total turnover as more than Rs 2.68 crore worth shares were traded during the day where its LTP stood at Rs 1,680. Similarly, Gurkhas Finance Limited Promoter Share (GUFLPO) was the most traded stock as 104,999 unit shares were traded. 2 3 Likewise, Swadeshi Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha (SDESI) stood ahead as the top gainer for the day. The price of the share increased by 24 points and closed at Rs 512. While, Mahila Sahayatra Microfinance Bittiya Sanstha Limited (MSMBS) lost the most during the day. The price of the share decreased by 39 points and its LTP at the end of the day was Rs 611. 4 5 Both the sensitive and float index decreased by 2.79 points and 1.04 points respectively. Among the sub-indices, only Hotels landed in the green zone by gaining 17.79 points. Insurance sector lost 152.18 points followed by Manufacturing & Production losing 17.79 points. 6
