Stock Market continues downward trend; Index slides by 8.07 points with minimal turnover of Rs 42.44 crore

The benchmark capital market index, Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE), has declined by 8.97 points or 0.60% to close at 1484.45 points.
Today, NEPSE Index opened at 1493.44 points and the local bourse was seenin upward trend till the first trading hour of the day afterward was seen in downward trend. The total turnover of the day stood above Rs 42.44 crore where more than 11.29 lakh units shares were traded through 5,075 transactions.
Nepal Investment Bank Limited (NIB) topped the list of companies in terms of turnover (Rs 1.94 crore) while Sunrise Bank Limited (SRBL) was traded the most (55,000 units) today.
Sensitive and float index went down by 1.85 points and 0.63 points respectively.
Except trading, the indices of nine trading group landed in red at the end of the day with Insurance sector losing the most followed by Hotels sector.
The best performer for the day was Suryodaya Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (SLBS) hitting 10% positive circuit break whereas Kabeli Bikas Bank Limited (KEBL) was the biggest loser today.
