Shree Airlines has successfully completed a test flight to Kolkata in the final week of Chaitra, which the company described as operationally successful. Following the trial, preparations for regular commercial operations have been expedited as the airline moves closer to launching international services.

The carrier has stated that it intends to begin scheduled international flights within three months after receiving final approval from Indian aviation authorities. As part of its initial expansion plan, the airline is preparing to operate daily services on the Kathmandu–New Delhi route once it secures necessary regulatory clearance, positioning itself as a low-cost option for travellers between Nepal and India.

According to Market Management Chief Anil Manandhar, the airline aims to enhance connectivity and offer more affordable travel choices across major Indian destinations. The international operations are expected to be carried out using the 80-seat Bombardier Dash 8 Q400 aircraft, which the company considers suitable for short-haul routes due to its operational efficiency.

With the recent acquisition of its Air Operator Certificate (AOC) for international flights, Shree Airlines is looking to strengthen its presence in the South Asian aviation sector, identifying India as a key growth market driven by strong passenger demand and close geographic ties.

In parallel with its expansion plans, the company is also preparing for an Initial Public Offering (IPO) at Rs. 200 per share, reflecting its broader growth strategy and investor outlook. The upcoming services to New Delhi and Kolkata are expected to further boost Nepal–India air connectivity, with industry observers noting that the entry of Shree Airlines into international scheduled operations could increase competition and improve both fares and service options on key regional routes.
