PM Balendra Shah Holds Talks With Top Business Leaders on Investment
Prime Minister Balendra Shah held a nearly two-hour meeting with leading private-sector representatives at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers to discuss investment promotion, infrastructure development, job creation and policy reforms.
The meeting, held at the Prime Minister’s invitation, was attended by Binod Chaudhary, Chandra Prasad Dhakal, Umesh Shrestha and Pawan Golyan, with lawmaker and businessperson Vidushi Rana facilitating the discussion.
Private-sector representatives raised concerns over procedural delays, investment barriers and declining business confidence. Prime Minister Shah expressed commitment to promoting both domestic investment and FDI and assured that the government could introduce new laws if existing provisions obstruct investment.
The Prime Minister also emphasized infrastructure development and employment creation. According to Rana, Shah proposed government support for roads, bridges and electricity if businesses invest in major projects such as hotels or factories in remote destinations including Dolpa, Mugu and Rara.
The meeting also discussed increasing medical and nursing education capacity, establishing world-class universities and hospitals, and industrializing agriculture. Prime Minister Shah reportedly reaffirmed the government’s commitment to working with the private sector to achieve 7% economic growth and strengthen investor confidence.
