Shikhar Insurance settles 725 claims out of 1,446 claims received worth Rs 150 crores

After the massive earthquake on Baishak 12, there have been 16,000 damage reports worth Rs 1500 crore recorded by the insurance sector. Out of which, Shikhar Insurance Company Limited (SICL) has received 1,446 claims worth Rs 150 crore. Of the total claims, it has settled 725 claims which are 50 percent of the total claims received by the company.
The insurance company has asked the policy holders to provide the needed documents to the surveyor on time. Also, the surveyors are requested to work in a speedy way and give the final reports to the company. Because of the delay in submitting the claim settlement related documents by the surveyors there has been time lag in settling the claims of the policy holders.
Shikhar Insurance had been settling claims worth Rs 40 crore in average in the previous years. In future, SICL assures to provide much stronger, smoother and better services to its customers.
