SEBON celebrates World Investors Week; says margin lending through brokers in final stage

Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON) has celebrated World Investors Week by organizing trainings and interaction programs in its premises. There were altogether 75 participants in the program.
As International Organization of Securities Commission (IOSCO) insisted all member organizations—including SEBON—to celebrate World Investors Week starting this year, SEBON decided to organize programs for the whole week. Before this, the Board had organized more than 110 programs in association with FNCCI, local campuses and other firms in 65 districts with more than 13 thousand investors.
Speaking in the program, Dr. Nabaraj Adhikari, Director of the Board emphasized about the importance and requirement of fundamental knowledge while investing in shares, and also about development and market reforms.
Participants in the program raised many issues like implementation of online trading, possibility of Broker license to banks, to reduce broker commission, zero capital gain tax for holding shares more than a year, implementation of Margin lending through brokers and NRN investment.
Likewise, Dr. Rewat Bahadur Karki, Chairman of SEBON said, “The Board will look after the issues and also the overall development and professionalism in the securities market.”
