RSP Chair Rabi Lamichhane Wins HoR Seat from Chitwan-2

Chairperson of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), Rabi Lamichhane, has been elected as a Member of the House of Representatives (HoR) from Chitwan Constituency No. 2.

According to Chief Election Officer Kedar Nath Paudel, Lamichhane secured 54,402 votes in the election. His closest rival, Meena Kumari Kharel of the Nepali Congress, received 14,564 votes.

Similarly, Asmin Ghimire of the Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Marxist–Leninist) secured 6,992 votes, while Pratap Gurung of the Nepal Communist Party obtained 4,469 votes.

Lamichhane had earlier secured 54,176 votes in the by-election held in 2080 BS from the same constituency. In that election, the Nepali Congress candidate had received 11,214 votes, while the CPN-UML candidate had secured 10,936 votes.

In the latest HoR election, 87,221 votes were cast out of a total 137,152 registered voters in the constituency. A total of 23 candidates, including those from various political parties and independent contenders, had competed in the election from Chitwan-2.
