Rs 1.28 billion revenue raised in Bhairahawa

The Inland Revenue Office at Bhairahawa has raised Rs. 1.28 billion revenue in the first six months of the current fiscal year.
The office collected 21.33 per cent more revenue compared to the same period of the previous fiscal year 2013/2014, said Janak Raj Sharma, Chief Revenue Officer at the Office. The office had raised revenue of Rs 1.5 billion the previous fiscal year, he added.
The office collected Rs 228 million from income tax, Rs 14 million from rent tax, Rs 16.1 million from interest tax during the first six months.
Similarly, the Office raised Rs 336 million from VAT, Rs 713 million from excise duty and 3.2 million from education service tax, and Rs 1.4 from health service tax at the same period, Chief Revenue Officer Sharma shared.
