Revenue Collection Nears Rs 6 Billion in 10 Months at Inland Revenue Office Hetauda
The Inland Revenue Office Hetauda has collected nearly Rs 6 billion in revenue during the first 10 months of the current fiscal year 2082/83.
According to Office Chief Yukta Prasad Subedi, the office collected Rs 5.92 billion by mid May, mainly due to stronger efforts in recovering pending dues and increasing market inspections. The amount is Rs 341 million higher than the revenue collected during the same period in the previous fiscal year 2081/82.
The office collected Rs 345 million in excise duty, Rs 124 million in income tax, Rs 827 million in value added tax (VAT), Rs 519 million in health risk tax, Rs 68 million in interest tax, and Rs 159 million in rental tax during the review period.
Chief Subedi said the office has been given an annual revenue collection target of Rs 8.04 billion for the current fiscal year. He added that more than Rs 100 million in old dues were recovered through campaigns that included visiting taxpayers at their homes, making follow-up calls and sending SMS reminders, along with providing tax rebates and exemptions.
