Rastra Bank introduces new amount limits for withdrawal via electronic media; withdrawal limit set to 25% for credit cards

The start of new fiscal year also marks the date of implementation of the new policies and directives introduced by the Budget and the Monetary Policy. In regards to the same, Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has issued a circular regarding the changes in transaction limit on electronic banking effective from Shrawan 1st, 2075.

As seen in the image below, the new maximum limit of amount that can be withdrawn in one transaction has been set at Rs 25,000 and Rs. 10,000 for Debit card and Prepaid card respectively. Similarly the maximum amount that can be withdrawan has been set at Rs 100,000 for Debit cards and the maximum amount that can be withdrawan in a month from Prepaid card has been set at Rs 50,000.

Similarly in case of Credit cards, upto 25% of the approved limit can be withdrawan.

The other mediums of electronic payments include Mobile Banking and E-banking, for which too limits have been set. For Mobile Banking, the maximum amount per transaction has been limited at Rs 5,000, the maximum amount per day has been limited at Rs 10,000 and the maximum amount per month has been limited at Rs 50,000.

Similarly, for E-Banking maximum amount per transaction has been limited at Rs 1 lakh, the maximum amount per day is limited at Rs 1 lakh and the maximum amount per month has been limited at Rs 5 lakh.
