President Ramchandra Paudel Arrives in Japan on Official Visit

President Ramchandra Paudel arrived in Japan early this morning on an official visit at the invitation of the Japanese government, marking the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Nepal and Japan.

The Head of State, who departed Nepal last night, was welcomed upon arrival at Narita International Airport by the Chief of Protocol of Japan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Japanese Ambassador to Nepal Toru Maeda, and Chargé d’Affaires of the Embassy of Nepal in Japan, Harihar Kant Poudel.

President Paudel is leading a Nepali delegation during the visit and is scheduled to participate in a special anniversary function to be organized by the Japanese government, according to the President’s Press Advisor, Kiran Pokharel.

As part of the official programme, President Paudel will pay a courtesy call on Japanese Emperor Naruhito at the Tokyo Imperial Palace. He is also scheduled to attend a meeting organized by the Japanese business community, aimed at strengthening economic and trade ties between the two countries.

In addition, the President will attend a reception to be hosted by the Embassy of Nepal in Japan, providing an opportunity for interaction with the Nepali diaspora and friends of Nepal in Japan.

President Paudel is accompanied by his spouse, Sabita Paudel, senior government officials, and officials from the Office of the President. He is scheduled to return to Nepal on February 4.

The visit is expected to further deepen the long-standing friendship, cooperation, and partnership between Nepal and Japan, which have spanned seven decades.
