Political influence led stock market downfall by 16.85 points with minimal turnover above Rs 41.96 crore

The benchmark index at Nepal Stock Exchange Limited (NEPSE) dropped by 16.85 points or 1.24% to close at 1341.56 points. 2 Today Nepse Index opened at 1358.25 points and lost its grip as soon as it started. The index fell to 1343.83 in the first trading hour of the day then was seen fluctuating throughout the day. The turnover dwindled to Rs 41.96 crore (Rs 32.77 crores less than yesterday). 109,665 unit shares of Nepal Credit and Commerce Bank Limited (NCCB) and 83581 unit shares of Citizens Bank International (CZBIL) were traded most today. Citizens Bank International (CZBIL), Nepal Credit and Commerce Bank Limited (NCCB) have the highest turnover of Rs 3.65 crore and Rs 3.34 crore respectively. The total turnover of the day stood above Rs 41.96 crore where more than 7.94 lakh units shares were traded through 4,418 transactions. Sensitive and float index went down by 3.97 points and 1.43 points respectively. All sectors in NEPSE landed in red.
