PM Balendra Shah to Hold High-Level Meeting with Vice Chancellors of Universities and Academies

Prime Minister Balendra Shah is scheduled to hold a high-level discussion with vice chancellors of various universities and academies today at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers at 12:00 noon.

According to the Prime Minister’s Secretariat, vice chancellors from 11 universities and seven academies have been invited to participate in the meeting, which will focus on existing challenges in higher education institutions and possible measures to address them.

The meeting will include vice chancellors from major universities such as Tribhuvan University, Kathmandu University, Purbanchal University, Pokhara University, Lumbini Buddhist University, Nepal Sanskrit University, Far Western University, and Mid-West University.

Similarly, vice chancellors from Agriculture and Forestry University, Rajarshi Janak University, Martyr Dasharath Chand University of Health Science, Nepal Academy of Science and Technology, National Academy of Medical Sciences, Patan Academy of Health Sciences, and BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences will also attend.

In addition, representatives from Karnali Academy of Health Sciences, Pokhara Academy of Health Sciences, and Rapti Academy of Health Sciences are expected to join the discussion.

The meeting is expected to focus on strengthening coordination between the government and academic institutions, improving governance, and addressing long-standing issues in Nepal’s higher education sector.
