The District Administration Office, Parsa, has announced the closure of all border points along the Nepal-India border for 72 hours in view of the upcoming House of Representatives (HoR) elections. According to Assistant Chief District Officer Binod Kumar Pokhrel, the border points were closed from Monday midnight to Thursday midnight to ensure election-related security.

Pokhrel explained that it is customary for both countries to close borders for 72 hours during elections to maintain law and order. The decision aims to address security sensitivities and prevent any untoward incidents during the polling period.

In addition, the Assistant Chief District Officer appealed to residents to celebrate the Holi festival responsibly, urging the public to maintain harmony and respect election regulations. He warned that hooliganism, forceful smearing of colors, excessive alcohol consumption, and other disruptive activities in public spaces would be strictly prohibited.

The administration’s move underscores efforts to ensure a safe, peaceful, and orderly environment for voters in Parsa during both the festive season and the national elections.
