Panic selling drags NEPSE down to a 9-month low of 1396.61; turnover almost Rs 60 crore

Nepal Stock Exchange Limited (NEPSE) Index has decreased massively by 36.38 points today (2.54%) to close trading at 1396.61, the lowest it has closed since April 12, 2016. Today, the turnover was Rs 59.28 crores—Rs 20.71 crores more than yesterday.
Today, Nepse Index opened at 1432.99 points, and fell heavily soon as it started. The market then rebounded from 1403, but could not go above 1417. The market eventually fell to 1396.61. 8.95 lakh units of Prabhu Bank Limited promoter share (PRVUPO) and 70,000 units of NIBL Samriddhi fund (NIBSF1) were traded the most today.
The total turnover of the day stood above Rs 59.28 crores. 17.04 lakh unit shares were traded through 4,538 transactions. Garima Bikas Bank Limited (GBBL) and Unilever Nepal Limited (UNL) were the highest gainers. Rashriya Beema Company Limited (RBCL) and Nerude Laghubita Bikas Bank Limited (NLBBL) lost the most today.
Today, the sensitive index dropped by 7.89 points, whereas float index dropped by 2.71 points. Only manufacturing index could end up in green. Insurance index lost the most with 267.41 points.
