Open banks during holidays for tax collection: Central Bank

Nepal Rastra Bank has directed to keep the branches of banks and financial institutions open for tax collection.

The central bank has instructed to open branch offices to collect revenue on Ashad 27, Saturday, and on days after that even if there is a public holiday. The central bank has asked to open the branches of financial institutions and Nepal Clearing House full-time.

The Supreme Court had asked to raise the tax within a month of the lockdown being fully opened. Accordingly, the government has said that the lock-down has been opened since Ashad 1 and hence urged business owners to pay the tax by Ashad 31. For this, the central bank has instructed banks to open branches even after the holiday from Ashad 27.
