Officials of IIM Bangalore in town looking for Nepali students
KATHMANDU, July 24:
Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Bangalore, a reputed management education institute of India, is looking for Nepali students for its management courses.
Balakrishna B, head of external affairs of IIM Bangalore, is in Kathmandu to market management programs of the institute among Nepali students.
This is the first time that IIM Bangalore is promoting itself in Nepal.
Talking to Republica, Balakrishna said that they chose Nepal as it's the nearest market for India.
Balakrishna will speak about IIM's educational programs at Hotel Annapurna on Saturday.
VK Menon, chief of marketing and development of IIM Bangalore, told Republica over phone from Bangalore, that strong academic qualification, overall personality like leadership, and ability to put things clearly are the important assets to secure admission in the institute. Menon also said that they will also try to provide scholarship to deserving students and arrange education financing through banks.
"Students can pay loan within three to four years after placements that the institute manages for them," Menon said.
IIM graduates can have placements in big corporate houses like Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan, Bank of America Merrill Lynch in the banks. There are several such placements in IT companies, consulting firms, investment companies and many other businesses, said a press release issued by IIM Bangalore.
Balakrishna also claimed the institute prepares the manpower ready to work anywhere in the world.
Fee for international students for a two-year course is IRs 2.1 million. One should have a minimum 740 GMAT score to apply for the programs.
"Besides that students have to go through an interview on Skype as well as written test for analytical skill," added Balakrishna.
IIM Bangalore is offering four types of management programs including two MBA programs -- Post Graduate Program in Enterprise Management and Post Graduate Program in Public Policy and Management.
It also offers PhD program and yearlong Executive Post Graduate Program in Management for the working professionals,
