NTC earns Rs 7.91 arba in Q2; P/B ratio at 1.04 times

Government-owned Nepal Doorsanchar Company Limited (NTC), known as Nepal Telecom has posted net profit increment in second quarter of the ongoing fiscal year. It has stated that its net profit (after tax) has increased to Rs 7.91 arba in Q2 of FY 2073/74 as compared to Rs 7.25 arba in the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year 2072/73. The net profit has increased by 9.12 percent. The total income of NTC slightly increased to Rs 22.47 arba in Q2 from Rs 21.29 arba in the previous fiscal year. The expenditure of the company has also increased to Rs 11.72 arba in this quarter end as compared to Rs. 11.49 arba in the previous year. Nepal Telecom has paid up capital of Rs 15 arba with a huge reserve of Rs 78.81 arba. Its EPS at the end of this quarter has increased to Rs 105.58 from Rs 96.75 last year; P/E ratio is at 6.58 times and net worth per share at Rs 625.45. As of yesterday, its last trading price was Rs 660, and as such, its price to book ratio stands at only 1.04 times. It had distributed 50% cash dividend to its shareholders for the FY 2071/72, and its yet to propose dividend for FY 2072/73.
