Notes for Dashain will not be exchanged this year: Nepal Rastra Bank

It is a known fact that NRB has been managing the provision of notes exchange on the occasion of Dashain every year. People exchange notes for new notes of Rs. 10, 20, 50, 100 (and so on) in bulk.

However, in order to avoid crowding at BFIs and minimize the possibility of Covid-19 transmission, NRB has pulled out from its usual provision. Thus, BFIs will not exchange new notes this Dashain.

Explaining that numerous BFIs have had their staff infected with the deadly virus already, the provision had to be pulled out to ensure the wellbeing of the general public and the staff.
