The Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has urged the general public not to store petroleum products unnecessarily, assuring that fuel imports and supply remain regular and uninterrupted.

NOC Executive Director Chandika Prasad Bhatta said the import of petroleum products is continuing smoothly through the pipeline system and will not be affected during the upcoming elections. The election to the House of Representatives (HoR) is scheduled to take place on March 5.

In a notice issued on Monday, Bhatta stated, “The import of petroleum products is uninterrupted through the pipeline. Import of petroleum products will continue even during the time of the upcoming elections.”

He warned that unnecessary storage of fuel in cans, drums, and other containers could pose serious fire hazards and lead to potential disasters. The corporation has strictly prohibited the storage of petroleum products outside authorized systems due to the risk of fire-related accidents.

The NOC has requested consumers to cooperate by purchasing only the required quantity of petroleum products and to avoid panic buying or hoarding.

The corporation reassured the public that adequate fuel stocks are available and distribution will remain smooth throughout the election period.
