No revenue from electricity, higher financial cost; Rasuwagadhi Hydropower faces a net loss of Rs. 6.40 crores till Q3

Rasuwaghadi Hydropower Limited (RHPL) has posted a Net Loss of 4.60 crores in Q3, 2076/2077 compared to Net Profit of Rs. 1.6 crores in the corresponding quarter of the previous year.

As per the unaudited financial report published today, the decrease in interest income, increase in expenses has severely affected the bottom line of the company.

The company has negative retained earnings of Rs. 19.27 crores.

Due to the Net Loss faced by the company, its earnings per share stands at Rs. -1.39 compared to 0.28 in the corresponding quarter of the previous year. Similarly, its Net Worth per share stands at Rs. 96.87 compared to Rs. 97.49 in the corresponding quarter of previous year.

According to the management, 78% of the project has already been completed and 22% of the project is yet to be completed. Since the Covid-19 has affected the whole economy and government enforcing the lockdown has slowed down the completion of project.

The management has made a target to generate electricity of 61 crore 38 lakh 75 thousand unit till 2077/2078 which will earn them annually Rs. 3.25 arba in earnings.
