NMB Bank supports commercial farming in Saptari

NMB Bank as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility has in association with ICIMOD successfully provided 11 varieties of seeds of non seasonal vegetables worth NPR.8.5 lakhs to farmers in Saptakoshi-4. With the objective to provide support to commercial farming, the Bank has distributed seeds of non seasonal vegetables, cash crops and food crops to 123 farmers, in a program organized to handover the seeds.

The ceremony also included inauguration of 23 solar power irrigation pumps (SPIP) to farmers by CGIAR Research Program on Water, Land and Ecosystems (WLE) project and the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT).

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Sunil KC, CEO- NMB Bank said - “This initiative of NMB Bank is a small step towards promoting commercial farming. The Bank shall continue to undertake such programs as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility in the near future.”
