NMB bags IFC award – the first for a Nepali Bank

NMB Bank has been awarded the ‘Best Issuing Bank Partner in Fragile Countries – 2017 - South Asia” by the International Finance Corporation (IFC) during the 8th IFC Trade Awards.

The award is presented by Mr. Vittorio Di Bello, Regional Head – Asia & Pacific, Financial Institutions Group, IFC to Mr. Sunil KC, CEO, NMB Bank - in recognition of the Bank’s partnership in the Global Trade Finance Program for the year 2017.

“NMB Bank sets precedence by becoming the first Bank in the country to receive such award from IFC. The award reaffirms and echoes the trust and respect earned by the Bank over the years from international partners.

 This also underlines NMB Bank’s capability to work conjointly with international partners to support large trade finance transaction for advancement of the local community and subsequently the country as a whole”, - said a statement issued by the Bank.

With this award from IFC, NMB Bank has been able to bag three different coveted international awards in 2017 which includes The Bank of the Year 2017, The Financial Times, London and Certificate of Merit – Frost and Sullivan.
