NIC Asia Bank inaugurates new branch at rural Bajura; now serving from 149 branches
NIC ASIA Bank’s new branch in Martadi, Bajura, which was established in partnership with UKaid Sakchyam Access to Finance programme (Sakchyam) was inaugurated yesterday (December 19, 2017) by Mr. Padam Baduwal, Mayor of Badimalika Municipality in presence of Mr. Narayan Prasad Poudel, the Executive Director (Financial Institution Regulation Department) of Nepal Rastra Bank, at the branch premises.
The Branch situated at Badimalika Municipality Ward 08 of, Martadi, Bajura was the private Commercial Bank to have a full fledge physical branch in the district. The soft opening of this branch took place on 6th July, 2017.
Issuing the statement, the bank states “Under the "Sathi Sangai Sakchyam Bandai" project with Sakchyam, NIC ASIA Bank "Bank Pani Sathi Pani", in addition to establishing the Martadi branch, will also establish three branchless banking (BLB) touch points in Bajura and adjacent districts”.
The press statement further reads that the partnership between NIC ASIA Bank and Sakchyam will play a very crucial role in gradually enriching the banking activities in unbanked/underserved area aiding in implementing Nepal government’s program to increase access to banking service in all areas of the country, said Mr. Narayan Poudel during the inauguration.
NIC ASIA Bank is one of the largest private sector commercial banks in the country in terms of capital base, balance-sheet size, customer base, number of branch and ATM network. With the formal inauguration of the Bajura branch, the Bank is currently providing services to its valuable customers through 149 branches and 141 ATM counters, spread all over the country.
