NEPSE up by 5.36 points; turnover above Rs 300 million

The benchmark index of Nepal Stock Exchange Limited started this week with surge of 5.36 points of 0.54 percent to close at the level of 989.87.

Similarly Nepse Sensitive and Float went up by 0.75 point and 0.31 points to stand at 210.45 and 69.25 levels respectively.

Opening at 984.72 level this afternoon, NEPSE index steadily stepped up throughout the day.

Along with the local bourse, Development (829.98) and Finance (536.32) also gained 11.83 points and 6.36 points respectively.

Whereas Banking plunged meager 0.15 point (0.02) to close at 867.14 level.

Insurance sector was the maximum gainer today as its respective index increased by 99.48 points or 2.38 percent to close at 4287.45 level.

Hotels (2064.39) and Others (746.02) went up by 15.76 points and 4.7 points respectively, whereas HydroPower fell down by double digits of 11.36 points.

Altogether 769,105 unit shares of 149 scrips were traded through 2,668 transactions worth Rs 325.60 million including manual turnover of Rs 26.72 million.

Shares of Insurance Companies like National Life Insurance and United Insurance were traded maximum today.

Scrips like First micro Finance, Sindhu Bikas Bank, Unique Finance and Central Finance were the top gainers of the day.
