The Government of Nepal has announced a public holiday for Monday (today), the 18th Falgun, during the 'Fagu Purnima.'
Nepal Stock Exchange Limited (NEPSE) will remain closed to mark Fagu Purnima. Regular trading will resume on Tuesday (Falgun 19, 2082) at 11:00 a.m.
Fagu Purnima, also known as Holi, is Nepal’s most vibrant festival, symbolizing colors, friendship, and love. Celebrated on the full moon day of Falgun, it marks the victory of good over evil, rooted in the legend of Prahlad and Holika. People celebrate by smearing colors, splashing water, and sharing joy with friends and family. This lively festival transcends religious boundaries, attracting tourists worldwide to experience Nepal’s rich cultural heritage.
