NEPSE to Remain Closed Today, Govt Declares Public Holiday on The Occasion of Rama Navami

The Government of Nepal has announced a public holiday for Wednesday (today) i.e. on the 5th of Baishakh on the occasion of the 'Rama Navami'.

Nepal Stock Exchange Limited (NEPSE) will remain closed to mark Rama Navami. Regular trading will resume in NEPSE from Thursday (6th Baishakh, 2081) at 11:00 AM.

Yesterday, Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) Index saw a loss of 0.73%, or 14.81 points, settling at 1,991.71 points.

Rama Navami is a cherished Hindu celebration that honors the birth of Rama, a revered deity in Hinduism, often recognized as the seventh incarnation of Vishnu. Revered for his embodiment of ideal kingship and humanity, Rama symbolizes righteousness, virtuous conduct, and virtue within Hinduism. This festival occurs on the ninth day of the bright half (Shukla Paksha) of the Chaitra lunar cycle (March–April).
