NEPSE to Remain Closed Today, Govt Declares Public Holiday on The Occasion of New Year

The Government of Nepal has declared a public holiday for Tuesday (today), i.e. on 1st Baisakh marking the celebration of the "Nepali New Year 2083" in the Bikram Sambat calendar.

Nepal Stock Exchange Limited (NEPSE) will also remain closed on the occasion. Regular trading will resume in NEPSE from Wednesday (Baisakh 2, 2083) at 11:00 A.M.

The Nepali New Year, observed on the first day of Baisakh, is a major national celebration that marks the beginning of a new year in the Bikram Sambat calendar. This day is widely celebrated across the country with cultural programs, family gatherings, and various festive activities, symbolizing new beginnings and renewal.
