NEPSE SURGE BY 0.54 POINTS

Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) following the yesterday’s soar of 5.09 points, today moved in sideways direction between the range of 516 to 517.5 levels. At the end of the day, the market index made a gain of 0.54 points to close at 516.51 levels.
There were altogether trades of nine sectors today, among which Hotels and Manufacturing plummeted by 4.76 and 10.28 points. Following the drop in the level of Oriental Hotel Ltd. (OHL), Taragaon Regency Hotel (TRH) and Soaltee Hotel Ltd. (SHL) by Rs 1, Rs 2 and Rs 2 respectively, the Hotels sector suffered the loss today. Whereas, the tumble in the value of Uniliver Nepal Ltd. (UNL) by Rs 198 mainly dragged the Manufacturing sector down.
While, increase in the price of Nepal Life Insurance Co. Ltd. (NLIC) along with another 5 scrips pushed the Insurance sector up by 4.39 points. Similarly, the increment in Arun Valley Hydropower Development Company Limited (AHPC) and Chilime Hydro power Co. (CHCL) boosted the Hydro sector up by 3.48 points. Likewise, Trading sector also climb by 3.04 points following the increase in the value of Bishal Bazar Co. Ltd. (BBC) by Rs 36. While Others sector today also remain intact at 763.65 levels.
As for the Banking and Financial Institutions, Banking made climb of 0.84 points following the increment in the level of Nepal Bangladesh Bank Ltd. (NBB), NMB Bank Ltd. (NMB), Global IME Bank Limited (Global IME) by Rs 19, Rs 13 and Rs 10. Similarly, Development and Finance also surged by 0.32 and 0.37 points respectively.
Overall there were 92 scrips traded among which 49 scrips increased, 14 remained intact and 29 scrips decreased. The highest loser for the day was, Guheyshwori Mer. Bank. Fin (GMFIL), closed at Rs 198, with Rs 39 or 16.46% loss; the more than 10% decline in the scrip was mainly because of the price adjustment of 15% bonus share by the Nepse.
Whereas, Nepal Bangladesh Bank Ltd. (NBB) because of its growth of 157% in the second quarter, made it one of attractive stock today also; the scrip gained Rs 19 or 7.45% to close at Rs 274, making it the highest gainer of the day. And also the scrip topped the category of highest share trade and turnover with 141,811 units worth Rs 37,942,902 via 235 transactions.
The turnover today stood around Rs 84,235,462 which is lower by Rs 18,555,164 or 18.05% than prior day’s trade. Overall 342,790 units of shares were traded via 959 transactions with the market capitalization of Rs 497,510.07 million at the end of the day.
