NEPSE shows slight improvement today with minuscule turnover of Rs. 22.3 crore; index climbed 6.04 points closing at 1,199

The market showed improvement today. NEPSE index has gained 6.04 points or 0.51%. The market had opened at 1,192.97 and within an hour or so the index came down to 1,188.83 points, after that slight improvement was seen and at the end of the day, the market closed in green at 1,199.10 points.
Total turnover worth Rs 22.36 crore was witnessed during the trading hours as more than 52.7 lakh unit shares were traded in the whole day. Despite the improvement, the turnover is very low. A total of 3,655 transactions were carried out.
Citizen Investment Trust (CIT) stood ahead in terms of turnover as more than 1.27 crore worth shares were traded. Similarly, Mission Development Bank Ltd. Promoter Share (MIDBLP) stood at top in case of number of shares traded as 29.8 thousand unit shares were exchanged.
Likewise, Nepal Community Development Bank Ltd. (NCDB) was the top gainer of the day as it gained 6.78% and closed at Rs. 126. And, Barun Hydropower Company (BARUN) was the top loser of the day losing 5.67% on its price.
The sub-indices for all sectors except Finance inclined and landed in green zone. Manufacturing and Processing sector gained the most by climbing 63.07 points whereas Finance was the only sector in Red losing 1.61 points.
