NEPSE Settles Today's Session With Double-Digit Loss; While Market Cap Declined to Rs. 31.30 Kharba

The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) Index saw a loss of 1.23%, or 24.58 points, settling at 1,974.37 points at the close of trading today, following a loss of 7.31 points in the previous session.

Opening at 1,998.45, the trading day witnessed fluctuations as the index reached an intraday high of 1,999.17 before dipping to an intraday low of 1,969.96.

With a bustling trading environment, 316 different stocks were exchanged in 60,523 transactions. The volume of shares traded amounted to 9,762,803 with a total turnover of Rs. 3.79 Arba. Market capitalization stood at Rs. 31.30 Kharba, with a float market capitalization of Rs. 10.59 Kharba.

 

Nepal Finance Ltd. (NFS) emerged as the highlight of the day with a turnover of Rs. 12.64 Crore, closing at a market price of Rs. 551.00.

 

Similarly, Dolti Power Company Limited (DOLTI) showed the highest gain of 9.56%, followed by Sadhana Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (SDLBSL) and Samata Gharelu Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (SMATA) with a gain of 8.72% each.

 

Conversely, People's Power Limited (PPL) faced a decline, losing 9.92% to close at Rs. 554.

 

In terms of sector, Two sector Indices concluded in positive territory, with the "Microfinance Index" leading with a gain of 0.16%. However, the "Development Bank Index" witnessed a decline of 2.65%.
