NEPSE Plunged Further to Close 1.63% Down to Make Lowest of 17 Months

The NEPSE index closed at 2,137.92 today after losing 35.53 points from last trading day's closing. This is a loss of 1.63%. The index had lost 50.33 points yesterday.
The index opened at 2,172.02 points which is also the intraday high. It then made intraday low at 2,126.39 and ultimately closed at 2,137.92. NEPSE is down 33.33% from its all-time high of 3200 set on August 18, 2021. This is the lowest NEPSE has ever been in the years 2021 and 2022. The last time the index was below this level in 2020.
229 scrips traded hands via 27,519 transactions. Furthermore, a total of 3,769, 812 shares exchanged hands amounting to Rs. 1.317 Arba in the turnover amount. This is lower than last trading day's turnover of Rs. 1.338 Arba.
NIC Asia Bank Ltd. (NICA) had the highest turnover of Rs. 5.37 crores closing at a market price of Rs. 752.7. The shares of NMB 50 (NMB50) traded the most.
Upakar Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (ULBSL) gained the highest 8.23%.
On the other side of things, Nepal Investment Bank Limited (NIB) lost the highest 9.98% today.
Only one sector closed green, "Mutual Fund" gained 0.45% while "Non Life Insurance" lost the highest 2.56%.
