NEPSE on a roller coaster ride to end in green; Index closes at 1646.53 with turnover above Rs 1.15 arba

On the last trading day of the week, the benchmark index at Nepal Stock Exchange Limited (NEPSE) has increased by meager 1.50 points or 0.09% to close at 1,646.53 points today.

Today, Nepal Stock website was crashed today due to the issues with fiber network in the first two hours. As soon as the website came back into operation, the market gained traction and surged up to 1,653.06 points. At the end of the day, it closed with a 1.50 points gain.

The total turnover of the day stood above Rs 1.15 arba in which more than 18.39 lakh units shares were traded 9,015 transactions. Manual turnover of Rs 8.11 lakh was also seen today.

Prabhu Insurance Company Limited (PRIN) topped the list of companies in terms of turnover (Rs 5.85 crore) while Laxmi Value Fund-1 (LVF1) was at the top in terms of number of shares traded (3.36 lakh units).

The best performer for the day were Kabeli Bikas Bank Limited (KEBL), Lumbini Bikas Bank Limited (LBBL), Himalayan Distillery Limited (HDL) and Kalika Microcredit Development Bank Limited (KMCDB) hitting 10% positive circuit break whereas Arun Finance Limited (ARUN) was the biggest loser today.

Sensitive and float index declined by 0.45 and 0.31 points respectively.

Except Hydropower, Finance and Insurance sub-groups, all the sub-groups landed in green zone today. Insurance sub-group witnessed the biggest drop of 160.53 points.
