NEPSE Manages To Close Green: 8 Points Up With Lowest Turnover in 21 Months

The NEPSE index closed at 2,239.60 today after gaining 8.03 points from last trading day's closing. This is a gain of 0.36%. The index had gained 14.37 points yesterday.

The index opened at points 2,240.61 and went intraday low at 2,222.89. It made intraday high at 2,245.42 and ultimately closed at 2,239.60.

222 scrips traded hands via 18,808 transactions. Furthermore, a total of 2,324,665 shares exchanged hands amounting to Rs. 88.98 Crores in the turnover amount. This is lower than last trading day's turnover of Rs. 1.044 Arba.

This is the lowest volume since 20th August 2020. The NEPSE index was hovering around 1400 at the time, with a turnover of Rs 39.31 crore. The government's implementation of lockdown, citing Covid-19 safeguards as the key reason for the low volume at that time. This is the lowest turnover ever after market breached 1800 levels. 

Mega Bank Nepal Ltd. (MEGA) traded the most and had the highest turnover of Rs. 5.42 crores closing at a market price of Rs. 247.50.

Mega Bank Nepal Ltd. (MEGA) gained highest 10% and hit the positive circuit for the day.

On the other side of things, Gurans Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (GLBSL) lost the highest 5.47% today.

Eight of thirteen sector indices close green, "Banking" gained the highest 0.98% while "Others" lost the highest 0.86%.
