NEPSE lands in green; turnover up by more than 20 percent

The benchmark index of Nepal Stock Exchange Limited (NEPSE) booked surge of 2.27 points or 0.25 percent to close at 919.77 level compared to yesterday’s closing of 917.50 mark index.
As of today, the local bourse opened at 917.51 level this afternoon and boomed up by more than 12 points to touch the intraday high of 929.80 level within the initial hour mainly due to buying trend of investors seeing yesterday’s gain in the index.
However the selling trend of investors to book profit thereafter brought the NEPSE down to 919.77 level at closing.
The total turnover has surged today by more than Rs 58 million than yesterday’s total of Rs 266.1 million to settle at Rs 324.15 million which includes Rs 12.62 million manual turnover of Promoters Shares of Prabhu Bank.
Altogether 949.497 unit shares of 134 companies were traded through 2,499 transactions amounting Rs 324.15 million.

Among the sub-indices, Banking gained 2.35 points or 0.29 percent amid the surge in share price of Prabhu Bank by Rs 22. Interestingly circuit break in PRVU continued today as its price increased more than 10 percent.
Development and Insurance surged meager 3.34 points and 10.26 points respectively. Hotels, HydroPower and Trading also went up by 18.55 points, 9.58 points and 0.76 point respectively.
On the contrary, Finance, Others and Manufacturing landed in red recording drop of 0.7 point, 7.4 points and 1.17 point respectively.
Companies like Prabhu Bank, Matribhumi Development, Kalika Microcredit, Mount Makalu and Siddhartha Development Bank stood among the top gainers of the day.
Whereas share price of Himalayan Distillery, Kathmandu Finance, Malika Bikas, Ridi Hydro Power and Bhargav Bikas Bank plunged maximum today.
