NEPSE influenced by election mood; Index rises by 7.55 points with turnover above Rs 92.90 crore

The benchmark index at Nepal Stock Exchange Limited (NEPSE) increased by 7.55 points or 0.46% to close at 1658.33 points today. Nepse Index opened at 1650.84 points today and the local bourse went up to 1667.76 points in the first trading hour of the day, afterward it was seen in sideways movement. The market picked up after losing 8 points during the second trading hour. Influence of registration of nominees for upcoming local election was seen in today's market despite the ongoing political uncertainty. index 197,117 units shares of Civil Bank Limited Promoter Shares (CBLPO) and 75,539 unit shares of Gurkhas Finance Limited (GUFL) were traded the most today. Womi Microfinance Bittiya Sanstha Limited (WOMI) and Naya Nepal Laghubitta Bikas Bank Limited (NNLB) hit positive circuit today. The total turnover of the day stood above Rs 92.90 crore in which more than 15.48 lakh units shares were traded through 7,043 transactions. Sensitive and Float index went up by 1.55 points and 0.55 points respectively. Except Finance, Hotels, Others and Manufacturing & Production sectors, all the sub-indices landed in green zone today.
