Nepse Index swings up by 24.85 points with turnover exceeding Rs 61 crore; Insurance sector surges by 226.2 points

On the first trading day of the week, the benchmark index at Nepal Stock Exchange Limited (NEPSE) went up by 24.93 points or 1.88% to close at 1354.34 points.
Today Nepse Index opened at 1329.14 points and was seen in upward trend.
214,762 unit shares of Global IME Bank Limited (GBIME) and 65,000 unit shares of Sunrise Bank Promoter Shares (SRBLPO) were traded the most today.
RSDC Laghubitta Bikas Bank Limited (RSDC), Nerude Laghubitta Bikas Bank Limited (NLBBL) and NB Insurance Company Limited (NBIL) hit positive circuit today.
Global IME Bank Limited and Nepal Life Insurance Company Limited had the highest turnover of Rs 8.44 crore and 3.35 crore respectively.
The total turnover of the day stood above Rs 61 crore where more than 11.85 lakh units shares were traded through 4,803 transactions.
Sensitive and float index went up by 5.62 points and 1.79 points respectively.
Except others, all sectors in NEPSE landed in green. Sub-indices of insurance and hotel surged by 226.2 points and 47.93 points respectively.
