NEPSE Index Surges 0.28% in Today's Trading Session: Hotel and Tourism Sector Leads with 6.96% Gain

The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) Index saw a gain of 0.28%, or 5.63 points, settling at 1,966.23 points at the close of trading today, following a loss of 2.06 points in the previous session.

Opening at 1,963.45, the trading day witnessed fluctuations as the index reached an intraday high of 1,970.55 before dipping to an intraday low of 1,955.15.

With a bustling trading environment, 313 stocks were exchanged in 49,332 transactions. The volume of shares traded amounted to 7,058,399 with a total turnover of Rs. 3.12 Arba. Market capitalization stood at Rs. 31.17 Kharba, with a float market capitalization of Rs. 10.56 Kharba.

 

Nepal Finance Ltd. (NFS) emerged as the day's highlight with a turnover of Rs. 16.97 Crore, closing at a market price of Rs. 548.00.

 

Similarly, Oriental Hotels Limited (OHL) showed the highest gain of 8.46%, followed by City Hotel Limited (CITY) with an increase of 7.99%.

 

Conversely, Kumari Sabal Yojana (KSY) faced a decline, losing 8.48% to close at Rs. 7.99.

 

In terms of sector, the Three sector Indices concluded in negative territory, with the "Hotel and Tourism Index" leading with a gain of 6.96%. However, the "Microfinance Index" witnessed a decline of 0.90%.
