Nepse Index slides by meager 1.90 points today; Turnover at Rs 57.77 crore

The benchmark capital market index, Nepal Stock Exchange Limited (NEPSE), has declined by 1.90 points or 0.12% to close at 1524.87 points. index Today, NEPSE Index opened at 1526.77 points and the local bourse was seen declining for the first two hours of the day. The total turnover of the day stood above Rs 57.77 crore where more than 10.82 lakh units shares were traded through 4,863 transactions. Butwal Power Company Limited (BPCL) topped the list of companies in terms of turnover (Rs 10.01crore) and units traded (1,34,904 units) today. Sensitive and float index slightly went down by 0.71 points and 0.2 points respectively. The sub-indices of four sectors such as Trading, Insurance, Manufacturing and Production and Microfinance was seen in green at the end of the day with Insurance sector gaining the most (i.e. 27.4 points).  On the other hand, indices of six trading group landed in red at the end of the day with Hotels sector losing the most (i.e. 17.57 points). Synergy Power Development Ltd. (SPDL) was the top gainer followed by Goodwill Finance Co. Ltd. (GFCL) while Reliance Finance Ltd. (RLFL) was among the top loser followed by Sindhu Bikas Bank Ltd.
