NEPSE Index saw a decline of mere 7.23% in the FY 2071/72, turnover stands at Rs 66.53 billion

The total turnover of NEPSE for the fiscal year 2071/72 stood at Rs 66.53 billion and whereas its turnover in the last fiscal year was at Rs 76.97 billion. The total units of shares traded this fiscal year were 162.47 Million. Likewise, the total number of share transactions was 485.21 thousand.
NEPSE saw a decline of 7.23% at the end of the fiscal Year 2071/72 as compared to last fiscal year 2070/71. On Ashad 31, 2070/71, NEPSE was at 1036.11 points whereas NEPSE is at 961.23 points at the end of the FY 2071/72, a year-on-year decline of 74.88 points.
A similar observation of sector-wise indices reveals Manufacturing & Production and development bank as top performing segment, which registered a growth of 46.97% and 18.38% respectively, while hydropower segment has turned out to be the worst performer registering a decline of 26.42%.
Last fiscal year, on Ashad 31, the index for manufacturing sector was at 1138.28 points while this year its index was at 1672.88 points, a rise of 534.6 points. Development bank sector was at 683.42 points at the end of last fiscal year, whereas this year its index is at 809.04 points, a rise of 125.62 points. Similarly, hydropower index on the day was at 3052.49 points last year but has declined to 2246.11, decline of 806.38 points.
Commercial banks, Insurance and Hotel Sectors ended the year with a slightly degraded performance. The banking sector saw a decline of 12.03%, Insurance saw a decline of Rs 5.23% whereas hotel sector saw a decline of 0.47%.
Last year, on Ashad 31 Insurance index was at 4383.36 points, while at the end of FY 2071/72 index is at 4154.19 points. Banking sector index was at 945 points on Ashad 31 last year but moved down to close at 831.35 this year and Hotels was at 1889.82 points last FY whereas it was at 1880.92 points at the end of FY 2071/72.
The finance sector, meanwhile, saw a meager rise of 3.05%. While last year it closed at 504.88 points, this year the index is at 520.3 points.

Nagbeli Microfinance previous fiscal year price was Rs 649 and this year the price is Rs2000, which is a rise of 208.17%.
Mithila Laghu Bitta Bikas Bank Ltd. previous fiscal year price was Rs 386 and this year the price is Rs 1075, which is a rise of 178.50%.
Jhimruk Bikas Bank previous fiscal year price was Rs 160 and this year its price is Rs 400. It has gone upward by 150%.

National Hydro Power previous fiscal year price was Rs 219 and this year the price is Rs 124. It has declined by 43.38%
Agriculture Development Bank price last fiscal year was Rs 756 whereas this year it’s Rs 432. It has declined by 42.86%.
International Leasing and Finance Company Limited last fiscal year price was Rs 243 and this year its price is Rs 144. It has been declined by 40.74% points.
Sagarmatha Insurance Company Limited last fiscal year price was Rs 1260 and this year its price is Rs 750, a fall of 40.48%.
