Nepse Index plunges by double digits to close at 1496.46 levels; Turnover exceeds to Rs 63.12 crore

On the first trading day of the week, the benchmark capital market index, Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE), has plunged by 26.35 points or 1.73% to close at 1496.46 points. Today, NEPSE Index opened at 1522.92 points and the local bourse was seen downward trend throughout the day. The total turnover of the day stood above Rs 63.12 crore where more than 15.06 lakh units shares were traded through 7,318 transactions. index Nepal Life Insurance Company Limited (NLIC) topped the list of companies in terms of turnover (Rs 3.18 crore) while Sunrise Bank Limited (SRBL) was traded the most (62,663units) today. Sensitive and float index went down by 5.44 points and 2.02 points respectively. Except trading sub-group, the indices of nine trading group landed in red at the end of the day with Insurance sector losing the most followed by Manufacturing & Production sector.
