NEPSE Index Plunged by 0.14% to Close at 1,897.08; IPO Rookie Stock PHCL First Red Day After Being Traded

The NEPSE index closed at 1,897.08 today after losing 2.62 points from the last trading day's closing. This is a loss of 0.14%. The index lost 2.57 points yesterday.

The index opened at 1,900.61 and made an intraday high of 1,906.04. It then made an intraday low at 1,893.01 and ultimately closed at 1,897.08.

246 scrips traded hands via 16,677 transactions. A total of 2,087,876 shares exchanged hands amounting to only Rs. 72.78 Crores in turnover amount. This is lower than the last trading day's turnover of Rs. 77.70 Crores.

Nepal Doorsanchar Company Limited (NTC) had the highest turnover of Rs. 5.39 crores closing at a market price of Rs. 909 per share. The shares of Agricultural Development Bank Limited (ADBL) traded the most.

CYC Nepal Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (CYCL) and Eastern Hydropower Limited (EHPL) gained the highest 10% each and hit a positive circuit for the day.

On the other side of things, Peoples Hydropower Company Limited (PHCL) lost all 10% today.

Five sector indices closed green, "Mutual Fund" lost the highest by 0.94% while "Hotel and Tourism" gained the highest by 0.72%.
