Nepse Index nosedives as index falls below 1550 level; closes with 35 points loss at 1519.66

On the first trading day of the week, the benchmark capital market index, Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE), has declined by 34.89 points or 2.24% to close at 1,519.66 points. Today, NEPSE Index opened at 1,554.55 points and the local bourse was seen in downward trend. The total turnover of the day stood above Rs 92.42 crore in which more than 15.57 lakh units shares were traded through 9,112 transactions. Nirdhan Utthan Bank Limited (NUBL) topped the list of companies in terms of turnover (Rs 10.67 crore) while the shares of Nepal Bank Limited (NBL) were traded the most (1.44 lakh units) today. The best performer of the day was Samata Microfinance Bittiya Sanstha Limited (SMATA) while Chhimek Laghubitta Bikas Bank Limited ( CBBL) was the biggest loser today. Sensitive and float index slightly went down by 6.78 points and 2.57 points respectively. All sectors at Nepse landed in red. Sub-indices of insurance declined the most by 296.71 points (3.43%).
