NEPSE Index goes down by 0.72%, Turnover stands at Rs 51.12 crore

The benchmark capital market index, Nepal Stock Exchange Limited (NEPSE), has decreased by 11.01 points or 0.72% to close at 1509.14 points. Today, NEPSE Index opened at 1520.29 points and the local bourse was seen decreasing throughout the day. The total turnover of the day stood above Rs 51.12 crore where more than 11.06 lakh units shares were traded through 5,207 transactions. Nepal Grameen Bikas Bank Ltd. (NGBBL) topped the list of companies in terms of turnover (Rs 6.54 crore) and Garima Bikas Bank Limited Promoter Share (GBBLPO) topped the list in terms of shares traded (1,29,894 units) today. Sensitive and float index decreased by 2.58 points and 0.96 points respectively. Except Hotels, Manufacturing & Production and Others sector, the sub-indices of seven sectors such as Banking, Trading, Development Bank, HydroPower, Finance, Insurance and Microfinance ended in red. Manufacturing & Production sector gained the most (i.e. 35.1 points) whereas Insurance sector lost the most (i.e. 88.07 points). Bottlers Nepal (Terai) Limited (BNT) was the top gainer while Kalika Microcredit Development Bank Ltd. (KMCDB) was among the top losers.
